Serving Up Delicious Flavour Diversity with a Side of Sustainability

Thames Christian School has successfully embraced eco-friendly practices by partnering with ReFood, a leading waste recycling company specialising in anaerobic digestion. Since the introduction of school lunches in September, the initiative has gained immense popularity among students and staff. The school's menu boasts a diverse range of international dishes, tempting vegetarian options, street food, seasonal soups, freshly baked bread, and an array of vegetables and salads.

Notably, the school is committed to sustainability, and now, all food waste generated, including kitchen scraps, cookery classroom waste, staff room leftovers, and uneaten lunches, is being recycled through ReFood's anaerobic digestion process.

Anaerobic digestion is an environmentally friendly method that converts organic waste into renewable energy and nutrient-rich fertilisers. By partnering with ReFood, the school is not only providing delicious and diverse meals but also contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
