“Thames is an established independent school in a brand new setting right by Clapham Junction station. We founded Thames in 2000, and now in our third decade, these are exciting times for the school.”

A message from the Head

At Thames we see the individual first and work hard to create a learning environment that delivers positive outcomes.

Thames is both the academic and the creative choice for your child. We are also the London choice for anyone who is looking for an education that prepares their child to be able to navigate life successfully.

We are exceptionally proud of all of our pupils who all enjoy a full co-curricular programme - most importantly we always aim to give our students the opportunity to experience an incredibly broad range of subjects, meaning that the arts and sport are not sacrificed for academic subjects, or vice versa.

Whilst our academic rigour is foundational, our passion for education extends far beyond this. We enjoy seeing young people understand their value, learn to honour and encourage others and contribute to the wider school community.

Strong staff retention, smaller classes, excellent pastoral care together with personalised learning enable us to challenge and support each individual and allow them to pursue their talent, find their passion and hone their skills for life after school. Our ethos of compassion, respect and humility enables young people to grow in confidence and their appreciation of each other.

We are now fully established in our brand new purpose built, architect designed premises. Built to the highest environmental standards, the building achieves an excellent BREEAM rating for its comfort and sustainability.

Our state-of-the art facilities are linked by outdoor walkways and include specialist science laboratories, individual music rooms, a dance studio, drama theatre with professional sound, stage and lighting, textiles and art studios, a cookery classroom, library and fully equipped woodwork and STEAM workshops.

Our new sixth form, opened in September 2023, offers a co-curricular and pastoral programme that will see our pupils further develop their leadership skills and understanding of the world so that they are prepared for a successful future. Pupils now have the option to complete their secondary education and continue to grow in the familiar, supportive environment at Thames.

If you would like to find out more about Thames, we would love to hear from you.
