“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education.”
Martin Luther King

Thames Christian School is a co-educational independent school for pupils aged 11-18.
In a city full of schools, we offer something different: an artisanal education, carefully crafted for each child as an individual. As a small school, our curriculum is remarkably broad. Situated one minute from Clapham Junction, Thames offers outstanding facilities for students to discover and become passionate about their gifts and talents. The design of our RIBA award winning building enables pupils to combine subjects traditionally perceived as separate paths.
Our first set of A level results have been a wonderful way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Not only have our initial leavers gained some impressive university places but, most importantly, they have grown into outstanding young people. They include future engineers, artists and scientists who will bring creativity and compassion to all aspects of life.
A message from the Head
Our journey and growth as a school has been remarkable, and I am proud to say that Thames remains true to its founding ethos, which is the key to our success. Genuinely small classes, a flexible curriculum, strong relationships and a commitment to every child’s growth is what drives our excellence and our personalised approach to guiding each child as they nurture their talents and strengths.
