Art and DT/3D Design Technician - September 2025
Visual Arts at Thames enables pupils to create exciting and ambitious work. We offer a wide range of opportunities to explore both innovative new technologies and traditional ways of working. Our award winning building includes workshop spaces for several 3D printers, laser cutter, pressure former, kiln and multiple pieces of woodworking tools and machinery. Pupils have access to industry standard software and a suite of macbooks to facilitate the development of their work.
The successful applicant will assist teachers delivering from KS3 to KS5 in the highly regarded Art and Design Technology/3D Design department The post will be at least 0.8 FTE but could be expanded to full time.

The role:
Assisting teachers in Art, DT/3D Design in KS3, KS4 and KS5
The post is open to an excellent technician who will have:
Relevant qualifications and experience
The ability to prepare materials and use of a range of hand and machine tools
A passion and for design and ability to share subject knowledge
High personal standards of integrity, conduct, punctuality and dress
A strong attention to detail and excellent planning skills
Experience of making and exhibiting art work.

The reasonable use of the workshop outside of school hours when the building is open provided the the applicant supplies their own materials.
