Thames Students Conquer the Austrian Slopes!

Thames pupils have just arrived back from an amazing week’s skiing adventure in Alpendorf, Austria.

Forty students from Year 7 to Year 12, accompanied by five staff members, enjoyed a meticulously planned trip with incredible accommodation, all of which had been personally vetted by Mr Christian Nielsen, Head of Sport. Pupils were provided with top-notch equipment and well-fitted boots to equip them for their skiing escapades.

Each day was filled with ski school sessions until 4pm, providing ample opportunity for pupils to refine their skiing skills on the slopes - no matter what their level. After exhilarating days on the mountainside, après-ski activities such as quiz and film nights, alongside other engaging pursuits like bum boarding and bowling, added to the unforgettable experience.

Despite encountering unpredictably warm weather, pupils demonstrated resilience and determination, making the most of their Alpine adventure. The trip not only offered thrilling skiing experiences but also fostered lasting memories and camaraderie among the students and staff.
