Twenty six of our Year 9 pupils have ventured into West Sussex this weekend for their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award practice expedition. Next weekend they will complete their qualifying expedition in a different part of West Sussex. For this, they carry everything they need, including their food, tent and cooking equipment. Preparation for this includes learning map reading skills and planning their route.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award provides invaluable skills for life, teaching young people resilience, self-reliance and leadership while working together as a team to overcome challenges. We wish them all the best of luck on their expeditions and look forward to hearing about their achievements when they return on Monday.
