On a sunny autumn day, our Year 10 and Year 11 Geography pupils headed to Bognor Regis in West Sussex for a GCSE field trip. Forming part of their formal assessment next summer, they observed the processes involved in long shore drift and its impact on coastal landscapes. The trip was led by Mrs Maddan and Mrs Jones.
Mrs Maddan said: “Blessed with fine weather, our pupils were able to properly examine the beach and the impact of coastal erosion due to a range of geographic processes. The visit helps bring alive the concepts for them and gives them useful data to apply in their formal assessments next summer.” She added: “Hands-on experiences like these are invaluable in bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world application, equipping our students with the analytical skills they need to succeed.”
