Before Easter Year 12s organised a collection of donations which they packed into Mrs Madden’s car to take to Wandsworth Food Bank. Thanks to parents’ and pupils’ generosity, so much was brought in that additional boxes had to be walked to the foodbank as Mrs Madden’s car was filled to the brim. Whilst there, one of the food bank team explained to the Year 12s how and why the food bank operates, including helping create solutions to get users back to stability and income. 75% of users only need 1-2 sessions of groceries before the team has helped unpick the underlying cause of the users’ financial shortfall.
