Pupils at Thames Christian School in south-west London have been enjoying great success at regional and national levels this summer both in school and outside. We are so proud of all their recent achievements.
Competing against pupils from across the country, Year 9 pupil, Josiah, secured a Bronze medal in the 1500m in the Independent Schools Association (ISA) National Athletics Championships held in Birmingham on Monday 15 June. This came on top of his Bronze medal and a personal best time (4:26.99) achieved in the London Schools’ Track & Field Championships 2026 held at Sutcliffe Park stadium on Saturday, and successful participation in the ISA Cross-Country National Championships earlier this year.
At the recent ISA West London Schools Athletics tournament held in Berkshire, other pupil successes included Lucas and Macklen who secured Silver medals in high jump and shot-put respectively, while Hannah won a Bronze medal for her third place finish in the discus competition.
Representing Wandsworth at the London Schools Athletics Championship on Tuesday 16 June in Mile End, Eleanor in Year 8 did incredibly well in Discus (14.53 m). Coming 5th out of 15 girls in a mixed Year 8 and 9 competition.
Commenting on this sporting success, Mr Nielsen, Head of Sport, said: “We’re delighted at our pupils’ success. All of them are committed and dedicated athletes who train hard both at school, supported by our expert coaches, and in their own time.”
And the results are not only on the track. In the pool, Molly in Year 7 recently won Gold in her local swimming club where she swam the 100m Breaststroke and Harmony, Year 10, represented Croydon at the London Youth Games coming 2nd in 50m Butterfly with a time of 29.72. This time helped Croydon to come First in the overall standings.
