Next steps: MEng Mechanical Engineering at Exeter University

Jack joined Thames in Year 7 and was a diligent student and leader throughout his time with us, taking on a leadership role while Year 11 were the top of the school. With a passion for Formula 1, Jack found ways to pursue his potential future engineering career across multiple subjects. From an EPQ considering F1 safety regulations, Jack then used the overlap of 3D Design and Physics to explore his passion in practical ways and lead other students with similar interests.

As part of his leadership development, he set up woodwork club for Year 9, to help them understand the skills for 3D Design GCSE. In Year 13 he led a team of younger students to design and build a racing car for the national F1 in Schools competition, in which they competed at local and then regional level.
