ISA Computer Coding Success 2026

We are delighted that two of our budding computer coding pupils have secured national recognition by scooping a brace of wins in the ISA National Coding Competition 2026 that encourages pupils to explore their creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking through their coding skills.

Year 7 pupil, Xavier, won the Best Visual Design category for designing his ‘Galaxy Defenders’ game (a modern adaptation of the classic computer game, Space Invaders), while Year 10 pupil, Matthew, scooped first place in the Key Stage 5 category for his 3D version of the computer game, ‘Snake’. Matthew’s submission can be viewed here on YouTube.

These are highly coveted national awards and both pupils were competing against pupils who were up to three years older. Dr Stephen Holsgrove, Head of Thames Christian School, said: “To win two awards at this level is an outstanding achievement. Both Xavi and Mathew have achieved national recognition with their ingenuous designs, fending off stiff competition from other entries. We are very proud of them.”
