Mark Bright Thames rugby coach

In line with our philosophy of seeking out professional teachers and coaches we’ve signed up Mark Bright to coach our Friday afternoon rugby club. Mark was the 2017 Rugby Players Association Championship Player of the Year and is currently playing for London Scottish. Teachers with real world experience make a huge difference to the quality of our curriculum.

Mark was born in Nelson, New Zealand, and played number eight for Nelson Bays, Tasman and Cornwall at provincial and county level. Bright was a member of the England Sevens team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he helped them achieve victory over Wales in the Plate Final. He currently plays for London Scottish in the RFU Championship, which he rejoined in 2018, having played for them from 2011 to 2016. He has played 150 games for London Scottish and 52 for Ealing Trailfinders (16/17 and 17/18 season) and has scored 93 tries in 202 matches. He was inducted into the London Scottish Hall of Fame in 2016.
