ESU debate

Freya, Year 8, and Ezra, Year 9, represented Thames in a debating competition run by the English Speaking Union, held at Francis Holland School. They were given the motion to propose: ‘This house would weight votes such that the younger the voter, the more powerful their vote.’  Feedback was extremely positive with judges commenting on the engaging delivery of their speeches and confident responses to their much older opposing team, Emanuel sixth formers. Although they did not get through to the next round, their motion obtained the most support from the floor. They were a great credit to the school.
