Learning Support Assistant

From September 2020: We are seeking to appoint a full time Learning Support Assistant to support subject teachers in the delivery of personalised learning for some of our pupils with a range of SpLDs.

  • You should be passionate about inspiring young people to engage with all aspects of learning.
  • You should ideally have an English or English/Humanities related degree or at least two English/Humanities A levels.
  • Experience of working in a school is not a requirement.
  • This post would suit a candidate who is considering a career as a teacher.

In order to fulfil the role, the post holder should expect to carry out the following:

  • To support individual students to access their full learning potential and assist them in achieving their personal targets.
  • To work flexibly, with patience, understanding and kindness, taking into account  the individual needs of pupils and adapting to circumstances.
  • To support the subject teachers in the delivery of their planned lessons and personalised learning for some of our pupils with a range of SpLD including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and Aspergers Syndrome.

Excellent career development opportunities exist as we are planning to expand into new purpose-built premises adjacent to Clapham Junction station in Grant Road, SW11 in 2021 as well as add a sixth form.
